SnapDex - Screenshot Vault App

Hey everyone, I wanted to share something cool I’ve been working on lately.

If you play a lot of video games, your console’s screenshot folder is probably an absolute mess. I know mine was. I’d take screenshots of epic boss fights, crazy glitches, beautiful landscapes, or game stats, and they’d just end up buried under thousands of files. Plus, if you play on multiple things like PS5, Switch, and PC, your memories are scattered everywhere.

I got tired of losing track of my favorite gaming moments, so I decided to just build my own app to fix it. It’s called SnapDex.

Basically, it's a sleek dark-mode vault where you can upload and organize all your gaming captures in one place. Here’s a quick look at what I’ve set up in it so far:

  • Custom Consoles: You can organize everything by platform. If a console you play on isn't there, you can literally just type it in and add it yourself (awesome for retro games or the Steam Deck).
  • Tags & Filtering: You can tag your photos with things like #BossFight, #BeautifulView, or #Builds, and filter your whole feed with one click.
  • Dynamic Themes: The app actually adapts to the game you're looking at. You can pick an accent color for a game tab, and it creates this soft, glowing neon background that matches the game's vibe.
  • Spoiler Shield: If you want to save a late-game screenshot but don't want to ruin the story for friends looking at your screen, you can click "Mark as Spoiler." It applies a smooth blur over the image that only un-blurs when you tap it.
  • 5-Star Ratings & Quick Downloads: You can give your absolute favorite moments a 5-star rating, and you can download any image straight back to your phone or computer anytime.

I also made it so you can save it directly to your phone's home screen as an app icon. You just open it in Safari or Chrome on your phone, hit "Add to Home Screen," and it opens full-screen without any browser bars, which feels super clean.

It’s officially live right now! If you want to check it out, you don't even have to make an account—you can just click "Browse as Guest" on the splash page to poke around the dashboard and see how it works.

Check it out at snapdexapp.com and let me know what you think or if there's anything else I should add to it!
